Desperately wanting and needing the security of passive income, I decided to move across country from California to Jackson, MS to be closer to my only daughter.

Things didn't go as planned and I ended up homeless in a new town where I didn't know a single person. I was on a mission to build my wealth and decided to do whatever it takes to succeed. I quickly started networking with anyone and everyone possible. I was laughed at and hung up on many times but failure was not an option, so I pushed on.

I finally found an investor who was willing to sell me one of his houses with owner financing. I had to be very creative in ways to come up with the down payment since I was broke. I was finally able to move into my new home and I only had $500 to my name. I taught myself how to rehab the property and put back on the market and had it rented within 4 hours! I have been creative in acquiring more properties and duplicating what I had done ever since.

In just short 4 years, I have exceeded my own goals. I own over 100 single family properties, 4 apartment complexes plus I am still to this day an active investor with a full team helping me. My portfolio continues to grow monthly. In the beginning, I didn’t have any money or credit, but that didn't stop me from achieving my goals and dreams.

Today, my mission now is to help 1 million people just like me reach financial independence. I want to teach you what I did and how you can duplicate my system of success.

Jeff is a recovering attorney who spends his time as a real estate investor. Jeff graduated early and with honors from Michigan State College of Law where he was the graduating class speaker. He also holds a M.B.A.

At 30 years old, Jeff checked the last item off his personal bucket list by climbing Machu Picchu. He was on top of the world. As he stood looking down at the lost Incan city, he had been living the life of his dreams. He was well travelled, having previously visited the Pyramids in Egypt, climbed to the top of Mt Sinai, swam with sharks in Belize, and backpacked alone around Europe. He was married to the girl of his dreams. He had a beautiful house in the suburbs and a thriving law practice. Two weeks later, he was in the hospital dying. His business was in disarray, his wife was barely holding it together and he was on his way to bankruptcy.

Today, at 41 years old, just over a decade later, Jeff is back on top. He is a millionaire, with over 140 residential units in his personal portfolio. He also owns multiple commercial properties. He is still married and continues to travel extensively. He is also co-host of the Old Fashioned Real Estate Show where the hosts drink bourbon old fashioneds and talk about real estate.

Cheryl Nydam Having fair and consistent rental criteria in place helps alleviate confusion and misunderstandings with applicants. It also helps with Fair Housing issues. Cheryl Nydam is the owner of National Tenant Network Georgia. She has been with the company since 1994 when she helped her father, the original owner, get the business off the ground. There is not much that Cheryl has missed with the tenant screening process. On Thursday, June 13th at Chattanooga REIA's Landlord Luncheon, Cheryl will be teaching you about the tenant selection process and how that alone can help you keep those checks coming in each month. Come out and listen to Cheryl as she shows you that finding and pre-screening your tenants is key to operating a successful rental business. Cheryl will tell us what questions we need to ask when screening our tenants as well as what to watch out for. Her husband Thom also works with NTN.
